Fitlab Fitness Clubs Are New Hampshire’s Most Inspiring Gyms, With More Space, More Classes and More World-class Trainers and Instructors Than Any Other Health Club in the State
The gym itself is great. It was the best gym I've been to in terms of equipment and atmosphere, by far. They also offer a free fitness trainer consultation and work hard to help you meet your goals.
I had an issue with payments after membership cancellation, but the staff put in extra work to fix that as soon as we figured out what had happened. I would recommend paying with cash, but other than that, it is the best gym around.
This gym has a great home-y environment. It is a smaller gym, but luckily there's multiple locations with more amenities that a membership comes with. The small sized gym is great though because a lot of family folk come through and the smaller crowd makes it more friendly and supportive for getting a workout done without people bothering you.
Currently updating my post to 5 stars as this gym has updated the equipment to provide all the essentials for any type of workout. Amazing.
Immediately after posting my initial review I was called by Eric Reid who I believe is now co-owner if I understood correctly. He paid the money directly to me via the app “Cash” today that had been wrongfully deducted from my account. I believe he did this out of his own pocket which is sincerely going above and beyond for his customers. If ever there is an accidental error or concern I would suggest just going straight to Eric and he will resolve the issue on the spot. Thanks for instantly alleviating this on going headache I appreciate it more than you know!
EDIT RESPONSE: A bit inconvenient to me? How tone deaf are you? And the hours weren't to clean the place or fix broken equipment, you can still do that at night with the place open, its obviously to cut costs so please don't try to act like you are helping your customers because you are not.
At first the 24 hour gym I thought I was signing up for was good. The staff is friendly, the shake bar is pricey but very good and going later in the night was nice because it wasn't packed and you didn't have to wait to use equipement. However all of a sudden, without much notice, the gym shortened their hours. This is very inconvenient for me, working a night shift, as I go to the gym at all hours of the day depending on my sleep schedule. If I had known about these hours changing I would have never signed up to begin with. Also I have started to noticed a lot of equipment has been broken for a significant amount of time and not been fixed. While there isn't really a problem with the cleanliness of the gym, because that is almost what you expect, the locker rooms aren't very clean. All of this I definitely would have been able to deal with, and would recommend to people, had they not switched their hours. Being there this week as they closed at 11pm with many other people there trying to work out is extremely frustrating.
This is the worst fitness place probably in the New Wngland region. I have been to a lot of gyms in my past, and been at least somewhat satisfied with how the gyms are run. This one, HECK NO!!! The staff is a complete joke. The manager here is a disgrace to his fitness members in general. Signing up was my worst mistake, because by signing up for a membership here means you are signing up for a lifetime membership. The gym is filthy, always has a NASTY stench to it, and almost every employee/Manager is just down right rude. And when you try to cancel, they don’t let you!!!!! They tell you to go to another company to call, which they say is “easy”. My butt. You call and email this other company to cancel your membership, they tell you it’s cancelled, then you get charged for the next month, and the next, and the next, even after following all their directions. Then I came to speak with the a**h*** Manager, and he tells me to go back to this other company, because he can’t help, and then tells me he has to take a phone call, and pretends to answer a phone, and I know that because he dropped his cell phone and it was on his home screen, not a phone call screen. WORST GYM AND MANAGER EVER!!!!!
I love the equipment, the staff is very pleasant, and the hours were great and convenient. Honestly pretty upset it’s not 24 hours anymore. It now doesn’t work too well with my schedule. But I’ll try to make due.
Been going here roughly 5 years now, primarily on Sunday mornings. Decent assortment of equipment (meets my needs and plenty to go around in the off hours). The patrons are good folk. The place was renovated about two years ago when the chain severed ties with Gold's Gym, so the equipment was updated and there is now a bleak industrial gray color everywhere. Every now and then there is a leak from the ceiling (heavy rain, recent snow thaw, or just the AC unit condensation). The cleanliness of the locker room is hit-or-miss, and they always seem to purchase benches that wobble. The sauna is down about 12% of the time and has fairly low heat output (could probably install a door that properly seals when closed? or get a heat unit that produces sufficient output?). When things break (like a wall clock) it is obvious that they don't have much urgency to fix things because they will leave it broken for a few weeks. Every year or so there is a new person as the morning opener, with about half of them being questionable at performing their job (sometimes they don't show so the gym is closed during open hours, or they aren't properly trained on how to turn the lights on). Sometimes other comedy errors happen, like when all of the TVs that are plugged into the Gym TV Network have a Windows error prompt.
There is some good and some bad. Considering it costs me $150 a year which my health insurance fully covers (so it is ultimately free for me), I'm ok with there being some bad. But I can't deny it is a mediocre gym.
